Why are my charges getting declined?

There are a few reasons that a charge may be declined:

• You tried to use your card with a third-party processing system, like Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Roku. Unfortunately, Grow Credit doesn’t support these payment processors. You can read more about this issue here.

• You may be attempting to use your Grow Credit card for an unauthorized purchase, such as food delivery or retail goods. The Grow Credit card is designed to be used for monthly subscription services. You can read more about this issue here.

• You may have already paid that subscription provider for another service this month. In order to ensure that the Grow Credit card is only being used for subscription services, we allow one charge per month per subscription provider.

• Your subscription may not be active yet. Some premium subscriptions can only be activated once Grow Credit has received your first successful statement payment. Please be aware that, depending on your bank, a payment may take up to 5 business days to process.

• You may have missed a payment. If we detect that a payment is past due, we will automatically suspend the account until the balance is paid. Your card will be automatically reinstated once your payment clears. You can make your payment with a debit card, your linked bank account, or PayPal. PayPal is currently only an option after your due date.

• You may be trying to pay for an unsupported subscription. Grow Credit is designed to support certain subscriptions, and although we strive to add more to our platform regularly, there are some that we currently do not support. If you are trying to add a subscription that we don’t currently offer, please suggest it by clicking the “Make Request” button at the bottom of the “Add Subscriptions” page of the app.

• The cost of the subscription exceeds your available credit. If you are trying to charge a subscription to your account that would put your balance above your current monthly spending limit, the transaction will be declined.
